Vacuum filtration

In vacuum filtration, a liquid medium is placed in a funnel vessel and filtered through a membrane by means of negative pressure. This allows the respective medium to be purified and unwanted residues are removed. This type of filtration process is often chosen in laboratories and research facilities because it can be carried out quickly and easily. In this way, even non-sterile media can be sterile-filtered without great effort.
